This is the first year my school has jumped head long into major recycling and environmental awareness. We have ordered environmental education materials to be incorporated in the curriculum. The teachers have been very enthusiastic and cooperative. We have had the CREW director (the recycling service in Dodge City) come talk to us at a staff meeting. She gave lots of ideas and encouragement. Our Earth Day activities were very informative. Community representatives who gave information included persons from Victory Electric, the wind farm, and Crew. The students made paper from recycled paper, planted plants, learned about the big wind turbines, learned smart grocery shopping practices and the do's and don't's of recycling.
