A community effort to beautify our school grounds, begun by a teacher, has blossomed into a cooperative effort as a K-State's Landscape project. Included in our plan, which has several phases, are: water catchment systems, utilization of xeriscaping and use of native grasses. The curriculum portion will include segments on nutrition, botany, nomenclature, composting, insect/animal attraction, bio-diversity, water preservation, etc. Our long range goal is to create pockets of beauty throughout our town when the school areas are completed and sustained.
