Describe your service(s) or product(s):

Lyon County Conservation District offers a wide range of hands-on environmental education programs. The lessons are appropriate for any age Pre-12 in any setting. These lessons can be used across the curriculum in a "stations" format as well. Nearly all of the lessons available are aligned to meet Kansas Standards and Assessment criteria.

Water Festivals, Enviromental Festivals, and/or field days can be set up on request.

Teacher inservice hours can be arranged to assist teachers that wish to teach lessons themselves. We have a library of materials teachers can borrow.

There is no charge for lesson plans and materials for the most part.

Some programs incorportated and utilized include: Project E.A.R.T.H., Project Wet, Project Wild, Project Wet in the City, Wacky Water, Dig-It, Soil & Erosion Explosion, Ks Ag in the Classroom, Wildlife Awareness, Environthon Team Training, Planet Earth DVD Sets, Dirt - The Movie. These are just a few of the things we have available and we are more than anxious to share!
