Join us for this year's Kansas Green Schools Conference! The one-day conference features keynote speaker Dr. Herb Broda, who will talk about exciting, low- to no-cost ways to move your classroom outdoors. We will also have presentations by Kansas students and teachers on their green school projects and curriculum. "A Taste of EE," which highlights environmental education activities to use in the classroom, is back this year! Concurrent sessions will include several school gardens presentations and examples of environmental projects in Kansas schools. Dr. Broda and Goddard High School teachers will lead outdoor activities to take back to your classroom to end the day. A description of Dr. Broda's sessions and his bio are below.
Pre-Conference Workshop: Trek a New Route in Green Schools! Blaze a new trail on your green schools expedition! In this engaging workshop you will receive the environmental education curriculum guides Project Learning Tree, Project WET, and WET in the City, and journey through hands-on activities to enhance your everyday environmental experiences with students. Along the way you will gain inspiration and ideas for starting new green schools projects as well as tie existing projects into your curriculum. The Kansas Green Schools recognition program will be introduced as a new tool to help you navigate this green school adventure. Pre-Conference Workshop Registration: $50 includes lunch, materials, and a full day of professional development. One hour of graduate credit through Baker University is available for an additional $55 for participants attending both the workshop and conference. PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP IS FULL
If you've attended the conference in the past, blaze a trail to Goddard with a first-time attendee and you'll both receive an energy kit for your classroom!
