Join us for this year's Kansas Green Schools Conference!  The one-day conference will feature presentations by Kansas teachers and students on their green school projects and curriculum, as well as “A Taste of EE” session highlighting environmental education activities to use in the classroom.  Concurrent sessions include the basics of grant writing, starting a school garden, involving the community in green school projects, coordinated school health and green schools, Kansas Green Schools certification, and more!  The keynote speaker is Kathy McGlauflin, Senior Vice President--Education for the American Forest Foundation, who will introduce Project Learning Tree's new Green Schools! curriculum.  Optional tours of Clifton-Clyde’s green school projects, LCL Buffalo Ranch, and the Meridian Wind Farm will take place at the end of the day.
The early registration deadline for the conference has been extended to Friday, 11 June.  Registration is $15 per person through that date, and $20 per person after that through the day of the conference.

A pre-conference workshop, “Discover Building Blocks for Your Green School!”, will be held on 29 July at the same location.  Enhance your classroom curriculum from the ground up using Green Schools projects that will excite your district, faculty, and students! This workshop will connect your projects to environmental education themes and activities that you can use to engage your learners in hands-on multi-disciplinary education. Participants will receive curriculum & activity guides for Project WET, Project Learning Tree, and Project WILD - including hundreds of activities and ideas to incorporate into green schools projects of all kinds. Green Schools Pre-Conference Registration: $50 includes lunch, materials, and a full day of professional development. One hour of graduate credit through Baker University is available for an additional $55 for participants attending both the Green Schools Conference and Pre-Conference Workshop.

A block of rooms has been set aside at the Holiday Inn Express in Concordia for 29 July.  The room rate is $79 plus tax through 15 July.  To make a reservation, call 785-243-2700 and mention the Kansas Green Schools Conference.
